The highly anticipated 11th Generation Honda Civic and 5th generation Acura Integra boasts praiseworthy performance in a light and compact package. The engineering team at Injen Technology took the all-new 11th Generation Civic and the 5th generation Integra equipped with the 1.5L Turbo engine deep into their R@D lab and began extracting the hidden power potential inside. Utilizing Injen Technology’s unmatched and rich history with Honda/Acura, which spans multiple decades, they’ve designed a system that is nothing short of amazing. The factory intake tract on the 2022 to 2023 Honda Civic and Acura Integra is very restrictive from the factory and limiting power output by choking the turbo. The new Injen SP1586 cold air intake opens up that intake tract with a massive 3.00 Inch aluminum intake tube that transitions into Injen Technology’s patented step-down process called, MegaRam® Technology (or MR Technology® for short). This patented MegaRam® Technology allows the engineers at Injen to fine-tune fuel trims and maximize power output. Directly after the MR Technology® step-down, the system briefly enlarges to 2-1/2 Inch before entering the factory turbo inlet. This is done to maintain airspeed for improved throttle response. The longer tube found on this cold air intake also promotes increased power across the entire RPM band and not just at the top-end like the majority of short-ram and enclosed systems. The Aluminum series of cold air intakes is Injen’s flagship system and often referred to as the “traditional” aluminum cold air intake system.
